Read about our Greenwich Healthier Communities & Digital Inclusion Project

We are a well-established Digital Skills training provider with high speed wireless broadband access. In order to improve and expand our services we have added mobile computing in the form of laptops enabling us to increase our capacity. There is a huge demand for it and this will help us to upskill our members, volunteers and staff. Furthermore, this addition of Laptops will help us to fulfil our long-term ambitious plan of providing a Day Centre facility to the community we serve. Learners will be offered a menu of activities from basic hands on back office skills to learning packages at advanced level including Internet, email, Facebook, twitter, Skype, on-line shopping, job search, on-line payment of bills, banking and GP appointment booking etc. Learners will also be able to keep in touch with their families and friends both at home and abroad.

In order to progress the project, we have established links with the RBG Digital Inclusion team, the RBG support team, the RBG umbrella group and the Good Things Foundation (this foundation provides resources and support for the National Digital Inclusion).

Through this project our members will be able to improve their health and well-being, lead more active lives and be as independent as possible, increase their opportunities to socialise and contribute to their family and society thus reducing depression and isolation, be healthier, more active and have more choice, through being more informed and supported to access relevant services. Furthermore, this project will also help to reduce intergenerational gap.
